OpenDistrict is an independent community project focused on game preservation, technical research, and interoperability with the original 2010 Realtime Worlds release of All Points Bulletin.
OpenDistrict is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Realtime Worlds, Unit Game, Little Orbit, GamersFirst, or their affiliates. References to these organizations and their products identify the software with which the project seeks compatibility and do not imply authorization or an official relationship.
Intellectual property
All rights in All Points Bulletin, its original client software, artwork, music, characters, trademarks, and other protected material remain with their respective rights holders. OpenDistrict claims no ownership of third-party intellectual property. Any license offered for OpenDistrict’s own software applies only to material its contributors have the right to license.
Client software and lawful use
Users must obtain any required game client and third-party software lawfully and obtain any permissions necessary for their intended use. Ownership of a game copy does not, by itself, establish permission to modify it or connect it to an unofficial service.
OpenDistrict does not grant permission to infringe intellectual-property rights, circumvent access controls unlawfully, or breach enforceable agreements. Users and community server operators are responsible for their own conduct and for complying with applicable laws and licensing obligations.
Experimental software and services
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenDistrict software and services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Availability, compatibility, security, and preservation of accounts or user content are not guaranteed.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenDistrict’s operators and contributors disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the software or services. Nothing in this notice excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricts mandatory consumer rights.
